Summary

The AIR TRAVELMILE™ ... a new financialproduct designed for airlines

For theairline, the AIR TRAVEL MILE™ provides a meansto:

  • Scheveningen Reservations
    Raise significantnew capital
  • Stimulateinterest in air travel
  • Increase customerloyalty
  • Enhanceprofitability
  • Compete moreeffectively

For theconsumer, the AIR TRAVELMILE™:

  • Takes the confusionout of airline ticket pricing
  • Provides a reasonable,yet profitable, fare
  • Provides improvedprice predictability
  • Provides greateraccuracy for budgeting of future travelneeds
  • Provides an attractiveinvestment

Fundamentally, the AIR TRAVEL MILE™works as follows:

  • The AIR TRAVEL MILE™ isa special air travel benefit.  This benefit gives the consumerthe right to purchase air travel at a fare based solely on thedistance to be flown at a known rate permile.
  • The consumer obtains this right to the AIR TRAVEL MILE™ benefit bypurchasing (investing in) an AIR TRAVEL MILE™ financialinstrument issued by an airline.  These instruments may beissued either privately or publicly and are primarily structured asbonds, debentures, and/orstocks; however, there are otheroptions.
  • The known rate per mile makes thefare easy to compute. It is always significantly lower than the standard walk-up farefor most given flight segments and should have fewer, or no,restrictions.  It willalways be a profitable fare for the airline.  All three seat-classes maybe provided: first, business, and coach.
By the issuance of theseinstruments, which are custom-engineered by the issuing airline foroptimum financial and marketing results, theairline gains not only significant newcapital (see New capital page for estimates, under Newproducts), but also a loyal and profit-paying customer. Additionally, the airline has stimulated interest initself and public air travel while effectively and profitablyresponding to the growing demand in the marketplace for lowerfares.

By purchasing (investing in) theseinstruments, the consumer has obtained the right to futureair travel at reasonable and predictable rates on the issuingairline.  He also owns an attractive investment in thatairline.  By reason of this relationship, he is now a moreloyal customer and, probably, a more satisfied customer aswell.

TheAIR TRAVEL MILE™, which utilizes conventional financialinstruments with a much different approach, is a breakthroughconcept that can take marketing of the air travel product andsecurities to a new level.  It requires a change in thinking, however.  But onceunderstood, its feasibility and power become obvious because of itssimplicity and win-winconsequences.
